The Phantom 'Rickshaw & Other Eerie Tales (1888)

Of Ghosts and Kings...

It's a collection of stories, crafted together into an odd, but very readable, book. The work's namesake, The Phantom 'Rickshaw, is actually very good, as was the story of the author's own brush with the paranormal, My Own True Ghost Story.  However, the real draw is the last story...it's the one that everyone knows about and wants to read...a story that seems lost among the others, and different, almost out of place, and much more famous that the other three...The Man Who Would Be King.

It's a bit early for ghosts, seeing as Halloween is next month, but let's get a bit of a taste...shall we?
