While not exactly a novel, The Mutineers of the "Bounty" nevertheless is a good little read published at the end of Verne's work The "Begum's Fortune". Much has been done on the saga of the Bounty, but this story is unique in that there's more on the journey of Captain Bligh and those who chose to remain loyal after the mutiny, where most novels focus on Christian and the travels and travails of the mutineers.
The story of this very real historic event has been covered from top to bottom with historical texts, novels and an Academy Award winning film, so there is not much left to obscurity. This little story is a bit of an exception, and makes for a quick yet interesting read. While attributed to the Science Fiction master, the truth is he did not pen the piece...he merely purchased the rights to it....the real author being Gabriel Marcel...a geographer.
