Brave New World (1932)

Hooked on a feeling…

Once more…we present one of the World’s classic novel…Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, where everyone is high, deviant sexual behavior is the new “normal”, and golf is played by knocking the ball up an escalator…not to mention the whole Scientific Industrial/State Complex thingy…

Aside from the Soma and the Obstacle Golf…I’m not sure this is the greatest story ever told.  It has some thought provoking concepts, especially the duality of the Pueblo Hopi Indians as opposed to the rest of the “modern” World, but all in all, it’s standard dystopian fare.  It is a quick read, so for your time you will get a very frightening view of the future, 500 years or so from the present…I especially like the part about Henry Ford replacing God Almighty…it’s an interesting touch…but why not Edison?

First editions of Brave New World are very expensive…it’s a recognized classic work, so for some…price is no object.  Here’s your “go to” alternative…
