Michael Crichton’s last book was a pirate novel…Drink and
the Devil had done for the rest…
Once again…I present a very entertaining and fast reading
novel from one of the Twentieth Century’s great novelists. Crichton’s book takes the early World of the
Caribbean and weaves a classic tale of buccaneering, Spanish treasure,
political intrigue, and a giant squid.
The book is fun, but somewhat predictable…I can see where bits of
Crichton’s work has been “pirated” for a certain television series that has
“black” and “sails” in the title, but so what…I’m hooked on the adventure and I
am a sucker for the pirate genre.
Getting a 2009 first edition should not be a problem…yar!
