The original…before Bogey…
The movie is one of my all-time favorites…Hepburn, Bogart, World War One, Africa…it’s just so awesome and exotic…I even had a model of the African Queen…it’s odd that I have only recently discovered that there was a book…written by C. S. Forester no less, the genius behind the Hornblower saga. The book differs from the novel slightly and is not as “showy” as the film…but hey…it’s still worth the read, and if you have not seen the film, read the book first!
Unless you are extremely lucky…a real live first edition is
probably not affordable…but the link above will get you a very readable EPUB…
