Life imitates art…
H.P. Lovecraft was a very inventive and creative
man. He created an ancient text out of thin air, breathed life into
it through his storytelling, and established something that has blurred the
lines between reality and fantasy. The Necronomicon is a figment of
his imagination. Despite the many books, websites and movies that
all feature this grimoire, it’s still a literary creation…however, some folks
will still swear up and down that it’s real…
Here is a list of stories in which the mad Arab’s creation
appears. Lovecraft cleverly inserted it into twenty or so
stories…which is awesome, creative, and just plain cool. He even
wrote a history of this fictional tome…giving a bow to the author whose book
inspired this literary sleight of hand, Chambers and his work, The
King in Yellow…
