This beauty was originally published in 1839…and again, in
book form, in 1840…they differ. Poe
revised the story in 1840 for Tales of the Grotesque and Arabesque. Both contain a
previous poem he had published called The
Haunted Palace. So if madness is
your thing (and nobody…I mean nobody does this topic like Poe)…then this story
