While not as salacious as you might think, it does provide some prime source information from someone who was in the Royal inner-circle. Mme. Campan was fortunate to keep her head...she passed away in 1822 and her journal was published posthumously. Here is the American first edition from 1825, which of course was preceded by the first in French, 1822.
