Oscar wrote one novel...

The Picture of Dorian Grey, while extremely controversial for the time, particularly for the early homosexual overtones, has come to be seen as one of the key books in 19th-century gothic fiction...right up there with Frankenstein, Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, and Varney the Vampire.

Oscar Wilde crafted a deeply supernatural book that explores many underlying social themes, aside from the façade of the story itself.  Originally published in Lippincott's Magazine in July of 1890, this true first edition was abridged and is not the complete tale.  That would have to wait until it came out as a book the following year...
